1972projects's Instagram Photo - The Replacement Girl 21/90. Croner, Ted. Bermuda, 1955.
Some became fashion photographers for the money. Some wanted to emulate their early idols, from Steichen to Munkacsi to Hoyningen-Huene. Some were seduced by the opportunities to innovate and create that the hungry industry demanded. Some did it to photograph beautiful women (and to sleep with them, given half the chance). And some stumbled into it — no-one more literally than Ted Croner, who came upon a naked Lisa Fonssagrives on a Vermont ski slope in 1946, being photographed by her husband for Town & Country. With Fernand Fonssagrives’ encouragement, Croner opened a studio with army buddy Bill Helburn on the corner of 58th and 6th, using a Voigtlander camera Helburn had wangled from his cousin. It was the start of two successful, if largely divergent careers: Helburn was soon one of Manhattan’s most in-demand commercial names, whilst Croner would become — for a time — one of its most critically lauded. He was still in his mid-twenties when Steichen included him in a MoMA group photography show (alongside Lisette Model, Bill Brandt and Harry Callahan). And Bazaar’s Alexei Brodovitch became an early and influential champion; “Brodovitch made us feel that as fashion photographers we were the elite,” Croner later recalled, “God's angels - baby Picassos.” But Ted Croner’s great subject was New York — the incandescent midcentury metropolis, burning with neon and teeming with life. He’s known for the extraordinary images he created during a few short years in the early fifties, capturing all the chaos and dazzle of the city's endless motion. The most remarkable of his fashion pictures were those that he infused with that same kinetic sensibility — like the shots he took of his first wife, model Theo Graham, downcast in the rain or ecstatic in the middle of a city snowstorm. Or the last editorial he did with Barbara Mullen, hair slicked against her skull and her body poured into a Jantzen swimsuit. Suspended in a Bermuda swimming pool, sunlight bathes Mullen’s face, and sparkles through the clear water rippling across her skin.

travel_inhershoes's Instagram Photo - Dinner at the beach with @CloudyBay!
:::::
I'm in a total panic mode - my flight to Europe got cancelled 4hrs before departure & I had to buy a last minute flight to Poland BUT
a) it was suuuuper expensive
b) even if all 3 legs of my flight go well, I'll arrive only 3hrs before my cousin's wedding which is the reason why I'm going in the first place!
:::::
Of course I could be getting angry and upset and go into the entitlement attitude but I've slowly learnt to see the positive side of this situation
A) even with all stopovers, there is still a chance I'll make it which is awesome!
B) planes are amazing and flying is a miracle!
C) I'm lucky to have family to visit ;)
::::::
And instead of angry and hopeless I already feel so much better!
 Although I'm still at the whining stage slowly and learning not to sweat the small stuff (even though they don't seem small at the time but it's usually very small) is hard! :::::
Please send me good vibes! And keep your fingers crossed for meeeee 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
