When Ms Sargent We're Not Interested said " Detectives Adorable & Loveley, I have a new case for you" We lnew we had a job.
Yep... today was a pretty awesome day. Today, Asher was the healthiest kid in the CTICU and got to go to the step down unit, CV Acute. He was the one they thought would be going home the quickest out of all of their patients. We had been hearing for weeks, off and on, (depending on where he was with the plan of care) that he would be well enough to make this move. It's not just a transfer within the hospital. It's a graduation day that signifies that maybe we can confidently put some of these hard days behind us. I'm not saying we had the hardest road, because I know we have met others with it harder. But today, mom and dad can breath a little deeper knowing that he made it to CV Acute.
Thank you, Nicole for coming to see us!!

Hey everyone! So those of you who have shot with me or seen me at cons know that I usually always have my daughter with me. She's as big of a nerd as I am and has fallen in love with the cosplay community as much as I have. She's off at her medical camp for a week and thought we could surprise her with this when we got back. Because of the damage she took to part of her brain her balance and coordination is kinda off so she can't really ride a traditional bike. The hospital offered us this modified bike but since it's custom made it's kinda pricey. I thought I'd make a gofund me and see if we can help ourselves that way. If you can't donate then sharing the go fund me is just as helpful!! Link in my profile! Every dollar counts! Thanks everyone!!
Here is the face of a fighter. My son has been through so much this entire process. He is still on the road to recovery. Friday he was taken completely off oxygen and has been doing great all in his own. His little body has been through so much these past few weeks. He's being weaned off so many medications all which have taken a toll on his mental state. He is still very agitated from being on steroids and hasn't been able to speak since he was extubated 3 days ago. I know it takes time but there is definitely the thought in the back of my mind, what if that function was effected from his brain damage? Physical therapy and occupational therapy has not evaluated him yet since he was just taken off sedation. He still has arm and leg stiffness so I'm hoping with therapy he can re learn to function. I have to admit sometimes it's frustrating because as parents we work so hard to teach our babies all the necessary functions as they get older and through each cycle of chemo and recovery it always feels like their progress is knocked back. Each time they take a huge hit and then they have to get back at it again. I know that nothing is impossible and I know that Adrian has the ability to fight and he has shown that time and time. He suffered damage to his brain stem and yet he has made an amazing recovery in just weeks which for most people takes months. So regardless of time, I strongly believe that he will make progress and recover. They were suppose to move him back up to the hematology/oncology floor but sadly they are over booked. Can you imagine that? A whole entire floor dedicated to children with cancer and not enough beds. That breaks my heart. So in the meantime they are keeping Adrian in PICU and will start his rehabilitation here.

Throw back to last month when @gal_gadot was truly
#wonderwomanwhen she and #director #pattyjenkinspaid a lovely and gracious visit to my amazing #goddaughterwhile she was @childrensla. My girl was so very very sick and we are still trying to get it all sorted out. Even being as sick as she was, the visit from @gal_gadot put a smile on her face that I've never seen in her 14 years on this planet!!! @gal_gadot and #pattyjenkins, thank you so very much for creating such an amazing moment, memory and a bit of relief at such a hard time for this little one. Your #benevolenceand #kindnessis utterly respected and appreciated more than you will ever know! #girlpower #giveback #love #thankful. @thetoddschroeder
2 years ago today I had open heart surgery, can't believe how fast it's gone by. I wouldn't be here today without this surgery💛grateful for my amazing doctors and family and friends that were there for me💉
My nieces & nephews tragically lost their father & step mother on Friday as Raul attempted to rescue his wife from drowning but unfortunately they both drowned 🙏🏼 prayers & donations for funeral services are appreciated! ✝️ THANK YOU!

Heading to CHLA to visit Diego. Poor baby is in the ICU, please pray for him 🙏🏽
First time donating blood after a botched attempt in high school.
That fear stayed with me for years. I saw an ad or an article about CHLA having a severe shortage, and I just knew it was time to give it another shot.
I trusted the process, breathed through the fear, and it was over before I knew it.
