I’ve been trying to write this all day, what I am thankful for? There are so many things that my mind almost goes blank: my selflessly supportive family, warm friendships, unimaginable opportunities - all of it makes me so grateful.
But, as many of you know, my health has not been the best lately and I have been struggling. This year I have had 0 surgeries, yes ZERO, and I am so grateful. I have an amazing team of doctors who are relentlessly trying to solve my medical mystery of a body, and I am so grateful. I have medication that keeps me upright and insurance that *helps* to pay for it, and I am so grateful. I am in a place where, even though I am enduring my own medical battles, I can still fight for and help others, and so I am grateful.
So, what am I thankful for? I am thankful to be alive. To be able to take breath after breath, take step after step. I have witnessed so much loss (of people, of abilities, of life as we know it) and so today I am thankful to be here - to be alive, right here.
I hope that all of you were able to take a few moment and reflect on your life. Sometimes, it can be so difficult to find something we are thankful for beneath incurable diagnoses, treacherous loss, and painful days, but I hope you can find one small thing to make you say, “I am here, I will fight to keep going.” (&& if you can’t, seriously send me a message and we will find that one thing, together)
Happy Thanksgiving to you, my friends. I am grateful for your love and support - (thank you for letting me be my undeniably weird self)❤️
