This week, the Eggs sang 'Row Row Row Your Boat' and read 'Ten Little Pirates' by Mike Brownlow & Simon Rickerty. They made colourful Paper Plate Parrots and perfected their motor skills while feeding the Hungry Pirate.
The Letter of the week was B! The Hatchlings kept busy with activity stations:
B is for Boat, Ahoy Mateys, and Pirate Numbers. They also raced pirate boats - a hand & eye coordination, oral motor & sensorimotor exercise. And they went on a swashbuckling Pirate Adventure obstacle course!
This week the Ducklings learned about puppets! They were introduced to the story of Pinocchio, made their own finger puppets , and enjoyed puppet string messy art! In phonics they focused on the 'ng' sound. In science, they explored momentum and movement in spinning toys, and in math they worked on number formation.
This week, in Math, the Ducks learned about weight and length in measurement. The Topic this week was Home and Away. They found similarities and differences between things we can find in Kota Kinabalu and other countries, and even the Moon! In Science they continued examining the plants that they've grown - describing processes and charting growth. During History they were introduced to George Washington Carver.
