nataliejillfit's Instagram Photo - I learned to do handstands, headstands and chin-ups just a few years ago. It took some time to work up to these things and I was "told" at my age it would be near impossible. 
With two surgeries and some injuries this last year (not related to those exercises lol) I took almost a year off of working out and lost all my strength. I was bummed, depressed and scared I'd never get my strength back. The more I expressed that concern the more negative validation I let into my life. That just depressed me MORE.

After getting the clear a month ago to start again I was TOLD again that at my age it may be near impossible. This time the 10 lb scale weight gain was making me angry- I decided to take it out in my workouts, walks and diet 😊and to IGNORE Any noise validating excuses. 
Things are ALWAYS impossible until someone does them. 
We can choose to get others to validate excuses for us but that will NEVER help us achieve our goals. OR we can DECIDE not to let excuses enter our mind and we can DECIDE TO FIND SOLUTIONS. We can DECIDE to only surround ourselves with people who BELIEVE it's possible. 
I don't claim to have this mindset perfected. Just ask those closest to me! I have my ups and downs.
This is why it is so important to surround yourself with as many people who "get this and live this" as possible.

nataliejillfit's Instagram Photo - Why (we believe) that fat loss gets harder and starts to suck as we age... I'm 45 as I share this... 1. We stop progressing. We do the same workout we did 20 years ago and wonder why they aren't working anymore - we HAVE to "progress" in order to challenge our muscles- change it up! 
2. We believe aging is a certain way- well it doesn't HAVE to be. Find role models your age and older and make that the new "norm" 
3. Traditional Media only shows young as super fit and no one talks about their age - again SEARCH for examples in the age range you are in and higher . You can FOR SURE find this on social media.

4. Negative Validation everywhere - we surround ourselves with friends, media, etc... telling us aging is bad. Stop it! Just stop it. 
5. We give up too easily bc of a limiting beliefs. We believe it's harder to be fit and so it becomes harder to stay fit. 
Find a new squad- a squad that believes your best you is still possible because it IS... and start to break the belief! ------------------------------------

nataliejillfit's Instagram Photo - I try to take a vacation every few months with the most important people in my life- sometimes with just my husband other times with my daughter and sometimes with just my friends for no reason at all. Vacations could be viewed as luxuries but we view them as priorities. We schedule them in the midst of chaos- we schedule them during school (yes I feel spending time with your family and traveling the world is a much better experience for learning and education than school absentee rules) we schedule them when we are too busy to take a vacation. There is never a perfect time but we know that it's important. We never leave our last adventure without planning the next. 
We travel to different spots for different reasons but the commonality of all of our trips is to have a new experience and remember what's truly important to us... that would be us. 
In this video we were in Mexico, a few months ago we visited Nicaragua to build homes and feed many displaced families, tomorrow its a new adventure :) ... see you from there!
