nataliejillfit's Instagram Photo - Fixing injuries, recovering , and getting rid of pain is a process. It takes relearning, being open minded and getting help from others! We have to forget our “rules” check our ego and rethink it all. At 46, I also like to prove things can be done when others say they can’t. 
When I ruptured my disc, and ended up in emergency surgery my intense workouts were off the table. Heck, walking was pretty much off the table! I took a beating mentally as workouts are my outlet.

I have some major imbalances right now as my nerves regrow and heal. New imbalances that erased all the hard work that I had done for the last ten years. My right leg just refuses to listen to my brain haha- it is greatly delayed in everything.
Getting my right Glute to fire takes some serious concentration!! But i decided I was done babying things and doing nothing. My intensity has picked back up- with a lot of coaching , persistence, the best nutrition and commitment :) There is ALWAYS a way to workout intense and to find work arounds if you are open to it! And , before you tell me I’m “wrong” for working out after surgery- know i won’t agree with you. Everything feels SO MUCH BETTER after a workout. YES I have doctor clearance to do so. All of the videos I have been posting are real time and filmed recently. I’ll continue to share my body weight workouts with you as well as some of my training sessions like this where I work with solid trainers. 
This video was today and was the last 8 minutes of my training today- hand walks, skaters and sled pushes - mission GLUTE ACTIVATION and building back core strength better and stronger than ever. .. Excuses don’t get results... SOLUTIONS and ACTIONS do. 
Complaining changes nothing. 
Where there is a will there is a way.

Ps you’ll likely never see me with an “arched back” again.. :/ but I WILL build that booty strength back. 😉

In Alyson’s words: “I'm a little self conscious since I still am not at my goal, but hopefully my situation resonates with others. 
I'm 42 and I work on a computer at home about 50 hours per week and travel on average 6 nights per month. 
I've carried over 100 pounds of extra weight off and on for over 15 years. I would occasionally start working out and/or dieting but I didn't understand how things worked together. I'd feel stuck and then the weight would come back. When I began Natalie's program I had a goal of losing 140 pounds. What motivated me to read about her program and ultimately sign up was a fear that my poor health would kill me - sooner rather than later. 
My weight impacted my life in too many ways - I felt ashamed and associated too much of my identity to my weight. The positive messages are a critical part of NJ's program and something I look forward to whenever I catch her on FB lives. The fact is, we can do this - it is very possible and realistic. By taking the right actions and "auditing" myself to see when I've slipped too far off track, I know I can continue this journey of self improvement, and fat loss. 
The knowledge I gained was tremendous! I may have hidden under a nutritional rock for 20 years because it was the first time I'd heard a lot of what Natalie shared. The content was clear and presented in an easy-to-understand manner. 
My progress is good. 3 months after I began her program I'd lost 30 pounds and after 5 months I've lost a total of 40 pounds. Now I have fun getting in my exercise :)
I had by blood work done and my blood pressure checked. Compared to 5 years ago there were drastic improvements and nearly everything was in the right range. My triglycerides were over 500 and came down to 225, and I anticipate they'll come even lower as I continue eating well. My blood pressure was also noticeably lower (about 108/67).” Wow! Go Alyson! nataliejillfit's Instagram Photo - Meet Patty! In Patty’s words: “I gained about 20 lbs after going through early menopause. I have a small body frame, 4'11", and to go from a size 0 to an 8-10, was just too much for me to handle. 
Menopause slowed everything for me and my body changed tremendously. I started having horrible back aches. My cholesterol and BMI sky rocketed. My doctor told me that I have to lose weight and bring my BMI to normal range. 
Whatever I did, I couldn't lose the weight and was convinced that I'm doomed for the rest of my life and that I have to learn to live with all the changes. I couldn't stand looking at myself in the mirror and kept telling myself that someday I will lose the weight. 
I spent a lot of money hiring personal trainers, but still wasn't getting the results I needed. I found NJ and purchased the 7 Day Jump Start. I saw results immediately. What helped me the most was the accountability, following a very simple plan and eating very good food! I realized that in order to be successful, I had to stick to a "new lifestyle". I stopped binge eating. The whole thing was finding out my "WHY": Why I wanted to change my life, but I needed the "HOW" and "WHAT". What helped me the most was the accountability, following a very simple plan and eating very good food! I realized that in order to be successful, I had to stick to a "new lifestyle". I stopped binge eating. The whole thing was finding out my "WHY": Why I wanted to change my life, but I needed the "HOW" and "WHAT". Natalie Jill showed me HOW to follow her plan, WHAT to eat and HOW to unprocess my diet. As a mom of two young girls, I have to be a good role model. They see and observe everything I do. I realize that I still have a long way to go, but the key is consistency, determination, desire to look and feel better, and discipline to stay on track. You’re welcome! And they are GOOD FOR YOU and so ewy gooey delish!

3/4 cup coconut oil, 3 TBSP raw cacao, 1/2 cup coconut flour, 3 tbsp maple syrup, 6 1/2 tbsp almond butter (one per cup) , crushed pecans. Whisk the first 4 ingredients together. Pour half of the mixture into 6 muffin cup.
Put in the freezer for about 5 minutes. Take them out and put almond butter in each one, top with crushed pecans and then pour the remainder of the mixture in each cup to cover the nuts and nutbutter and freeze.

Taking it out on my workout. My workouts are everything. They are my outlet- my meditation- where my creativity soars and my time. When you tell me it can’t be done getting discouraged for 10 minutes happens and then the work starts to find a way. 😉 Being told “I can’t” is the surest way to ensure it will happen. 
My ruptured disc , nerve damage and foot drop 5 months ago lead me to emergency surgery and my leg is NOW almost fully recovered from the nerve damage. It set me back long enough but it will not derail me. My back however, that’s something I’ll deal with forever. I’m picking back up the intensity now and not waiting any longer. All the rest and inactivity is making pain a new theme. I told my husband and Charleston today that I AM OVER TRAINING LIKE AN INJURED PERSON (yes I’m shouting) I’m DONE babying my back. Babying it makes it worse. 
The fact is that my disc is bad and 1/2 gone. That’s the only “fact” everything else can be changed. It is painful getting out of bed most mornings. That’s the current situation but not acceptable to me. I was told yesterday to “rethink working out” Uhhhh no. I’ve babied things long enough. Workouts , building muscle and fixing imbalances is where the relief happens! Accepting the notion of “not working out” is quitting. I’m not a quitter. Giving up is not an option. It’s an excuse and excuses don’t make us better. There is always a way. Inactivity is what has my pain worse. 
Sprints and box jumps are off the table clearly for now. That I’ll accept. But that’s it. Have to get creative- thanks @charlestondelacruz for pushing me and being so creative with me. ............................................................ The best part??? You forget about pain when your body is deep in a good for your workout. It’s true. Let it be your drug. It’s mine for sure. ................................................................
My message for you: Don’t stop. Find a way. You know your body and what it is capable of. Don’t let someone tell you it’s not possible ever
